This handsome boy is Moose, a 4-year-old great pyrenees/border collie/kelpie mix who is looking for a chill, laid-back home life with humans who love to get outside! Moose currently lives with a very young child and while the family is celebrating first steps and excitable baby squeals Moose is feeling quite the opposite... These unpredictable movements and loud baby sounds are causing him to become skittish and nervous and he does not think the baby's as cute as everyone else does! Moose loves adults (not little kiddos!) and is overall a super friendly, social boy. He is looking for a family that loves to get out and play (parks, hikes, long walks at sunset) who will give him lots of toys and playtime with other doggie friends! Moose is a smart boy who knows how to sit and shake and is totally up for learning any new tricks you've got up your sleeve. Moose has a bit of an independent streak and will be all up by your side when it's time to run and play, but he's a cuddler on his own terms and will let you know when he's ready! Now and then Moose gets anxious, specifically around loud noises/lots of commotion/quick and sporatic movements, so will need a home that can provide him with a little safe space where he can go relax on his bed and decompress until he's ready to come out and socialize again. An adult-only home would be ideal for this sweet boy or a home with older children who are pets savvy/can recognize personal boundaries would work as well. Most importantly, Moose is looking for adventure, love, and a cozy home to rest his head for all the years to come!
Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have any questions.
The suggested adoption donation for Moose is $315. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization which means that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we were able to provide animal Healthcare costing over $306,000 covered mainly through adoption fees.
Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.
Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
