My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

1) READ ENTIRE AD
2) ALL FAQS ANSWERED HERE & ON OUR WEBSITE, including COVID adjustments.
3) APPLICATION REQUIRED (link at the end).

Misty looks and feels like a soft gray cloud! She has a calming personality, and would love to be adopted into a mellow family. She finds the most cozy napping spots- under blankets or pillows, or even in empty boxes. When she is rested, she is ready to play and explore! Misty has a low, rumbling purr when she is getting scratched and cuddled.

Sweet, cuddly, playful & energetic. From the "Bobblehead" Litter named for their chubby cheeks and round heads. Super cute! They resemble American shorthair cats but we make no claim as to breeding since these are all rescued cats. Misty has the color of a Russian Blue. Raised in a busy home with older children. Will be available by mid-June after healing from spay surgery. Location: ROCKLIN, CA **Please submit an application and be as thorough & detailed as possible. We have a high demand for our kitties because of our exceptionally high standards for medical protocol and socializing. Even our veterinarians have chosen to adopt from us multiple times.

ALLERGY INFORMATION:
FYI-there’s NO such thing as a truly hypoallergenic cat. In our opinion & vast experience, cat breed has absolutely ZERO bearing on this matter- that’s propaganda that the breeders put out there and is parroted by other sources. Based on our experience, it would be best for the sufferer to:

1-Get tested at a medical office to see exactly how specific/strong the allergy is before introducing a new cat into your home.

2 Get a pillowcase and rub it on a cat/cats and sleep on it for several days to see if there’s any type of reaction.

Ultimately it all depends on a specific cat’s saliva/dander output so even that can be variable. That's why the pillowcase test is a must. A low quality diet will create more dander so a high quality diet is a must. Please accept this information from somebody who has no financial interest in cats whatsoever and has dealt with this issue for over 12 years (and literally thousands of cats) in trying to make appropriate matches with people with allergy concerns.

*****ADOPTION PROCESS:*****

APPLICATION:
Please contact us and we will send you an online application. A response is usually given with 24-48 hrs if we think it's a potentially good match.

INTERVIEW:
An adoption counselor will contact you via phone to answer any questions and if it seems like a good fit, arrangements will be made for all parties to meet with desired cat(s) at a mutually agreeable time.

APPROVAL:
If adoption is approved, a contract and adoption fee to cover veterinary costs will be required. You will be given medical files.

TIME FRAME:
Based on volunteer availability, it is possible for all adoption steps to be completed the same day, however, it is not guaranteed. Please note that occasionally a home check, vet records/references, etc may be required and multiple people may be interested in the same cat(s) so additional time may be necessary. You are also welcome to get the kitten an appointment with your own veterinarian at your expense prior to adoption, just be aware that may delay the adoption by several days.

WHY:
Our adoption vetting process ensures a proper feline fit for your family. You may be a wonderful pet owner but may not be the best fit for a particular cat, or other extenuating circumstances. Also, YOU may know you are a good pet owner, but we don't. We exist because too many people view pet ownership as casual or disposable so we want to be sure the best match is made for the next 15-20 years. Your patience and understanding as to where we are coming from are much appreciated. Our adoption process is also reflective of the extremely thorough medical protocol our kittens receive. Thank you!
