What my friends at ACC say about me:
I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
A volunteer writes, "I am happy to see Groot again this week after making his acquaintance last, but I have to say I am surprised to see such a handsome boy not yet adopted! Groot is a large 78 pounds, a meaty boy who I imagine is everything a new dog parent could dream of. He has cow spots around his body, a wide loose smile and jowls that may or may not have 3 day old crumbs between the folds. Groot loves to nuzzle his head into your hands, soliciting well deserved attention for such a well mannered boy. He previously lived with a child and another dog, but would like to be the only pet in his new home. He can be a bit shy, but does have a high energy level and loves to play, although he has not been comfortable enough to play with us yet at the shelter. He is a gentle player and lived with a 1 year old child and was tolerant and relaxed around him. His favorite activity is running and he loved all kinds of toys in his previous home. He knows basic commands and is reported to be well behaved when left alone. "
