My story

Hi there! I'm Rio. I am about 2 years old and currently weigh 36 pounds. I came to SCSPCA after being badly neglected but have since gained weight and am ready for my furr ever family! I am playful, friendly and very food motivated. I am super intelligent and will do anything for treats so training will be SO FUN! With proper introduction, I get along great with other dogs. Looking for an active, outgoing and goofy BFF?! Don't miss the chance to fall in love with me!

We are operating strictly by appointment ONLY. The best way to get in touch with us is by email: info@secondchancespca.org. Due to the volume of calls, only the most urgent calls will be returned. For information regarding the adoption process please visit our website or read the information below THANK YOU.

More about this rescue

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters. We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter. Just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they are placed into their forever homes. Come visit us and adopt your newest family member today! Everyone deserves a second chance. Second Chance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, the SPCA of Texas, ASPCA, or any other humane organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds. Over the last 10 years, we've rescued over 3,200 dogs and cats who were slated for euthanasia at DFW municipal shelters and placed them with forever families.
