Meet Alley: This sweet & very shy little Schnauzer mix girl is about 10 yrs old and came to us when her owner was no longer able to care for her. Alley has an unpleasant background that caused her to be afraid of most men and less than trusting with most people. She takes a while to trust a new person, her foster family was able to slowly gain her trust with the help of the other dogs in the house.
Alley would do best with someone that works from home or is retired as she likes to follow her people around the house. Older kids may be OK, & younger children who tend to be louder and more randomly active scare her. Alley is a creature of habit and not a fan of change, so it took her quite a bit to get used to her new foster home. Once she's convinced that she is safe, she is very sweet & loving, & Alley loves to sleep in her crate at night.
Alley has a medium length coat but only sheds a little but will need to be groomed on a regular basis. Alley is what we could consider a "project dog", she will take quite a bit of time and patience to relax in a new home, but she is loving and affectionate and has the softest fur and is very much worth the effort.
***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application on our website (http://www.twyla.org/adopt/our-adoption-process) so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet (as listed on our website: (http://www.twyla.org/upcoming-events), as not all dogs attend all Meet and Greets***
