My story

Roxy is a happy & friendly Pit/Lab mix who is 10 years old and weighs 60 lbs. Based on her age & appearance, you may think she's an old lady, but on the contrary, Roxy is anything but ... She absolutely adores people and being taken out for long walks. She is a sweet, social, medium energy girl who loves car rides, knows basic commands, and has awesome leash manners. A fenced yard isn't necessary for this curious & spry gal because she's not super active, but she does really enjoy exploring & romping around outside so if you've got a fenced yard, she will definitely make good use of it! Her goal is to keep herself & her family busy with daily adventures and she still has plenty of pep in her step & lots of love to share! Roxy is looking for a calm, adult only household where ideally someone is home frequently to spend time with her. She doesn't have separation anxiety, but she does like to have human companionship while she chews her toys and takes her daily naps! Roxy is housebroken, crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated & microchipped. For more information about Roxy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org. or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.July 4, 2022, 7:33 am

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The dogs that we have available for adoption have come from shelters where they were found stray or were given up by their owners. These dogs have been let down by humans in the past and may be suffering from physical ailments or abuse. So, by the time these dogs come into our rescue group they have been thru a lot and need a home that can provide them with structure, guidance, love, patience and time to adjust to their new surroundings. Please understand that as dogs transition from shelter to foster home to forever home there can be set backs along the way and they will need your help to adjust. All dogs that are adopted from BarkVille are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and provided with all necessary veterinary care. However, owning a pet can be expensive and you must be prepared to provide quality food, monthly heartworm medication, monthly flea and tick medication, yearly shots and routine checkups. In addition, you must prepare for accidents and illnesses that may require expensive treatment or surgeries. Many times our dogs have ended up in shelters because their previous owners were not prepared for these expenses and we want to ensure this never happens to them again. We strive to know and understand each of our dogs so that we can work to find the best match for each dog and adopter. Our adoption process includes an adoption application, adoption interview, meet and greet, veterinary reference check, personal reference check and home visit prior to making the adoption final. We reserve the right to deny any application that we feel is not a good fit for any of our dogs for any reason. If you are ready to make a commitment to one of our dogs please complete the adoption application and submit for review. The adoption fees vary based on the age of the animal: Age 7 and up is $250, Under age 7 is $300.

More about this rescue

BarkVille Dog Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. We envision a compassionate world where all dogs reside in responsible, loving homes. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment that is needed. The dogs are then placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement into their permanent home. Our group remains interested in and committed to the welfare of the dogs beyond the adoption process. Our goal is to help dogs in distress without regard to age, breed, size, or ease of placement. To the extent our finances allow, dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with area shelters and other rescue groups to develop a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless dogs.
