All dogs with PUP are in private foster homes so we can provide our potential adopters the most current information available.

Health: Dixie has been spayed and microchipped. She is current on her DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. She has been wormed and flea treated, and tested negative for heartworm.

History: Dixie's former owners were no longer to care for her due to work schedule changes and asked PUP to find her a new, perfect forever family.

Notes from Dixie's Foster Home:  Dixie is a gentle giant at 78 pounds and 1.5 years old.  She loves to play with other dogs and wants to say hi to everyone she meets. We witnessed Dixie lie down on the floor to welcome two new dogs visiting her foster home.  She's that gentle.  Her nose was as low at their small dog statures.  She loves to be around people and is very good with children. Dixie loves tummy rubs and can be chatty, as n the way GSD's like to talk when playing  or happy to see you. She loves outside activities, tug of war and would be a great running and hiking partner.

If you  have room in your home, heart, and schedule for this sweet girl , please email Laura@pupdogrescue.org directly with your questions and to apply.  Thank you!

Note: The above description reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. Although PUP provides adopters up to the minute information on our dogs, we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.

We have no central facility. Our dogs are placed in foster homes around the greater Seattle area where they receive socialization and training while they await adoption.

More about this rescue

People United for Pets (PUP) is a 501(c)(3) registered non-profit organization specializing in small and toy breed dog rescue. We are located in Western Washington State.

Our passion is to bring people and pets together. Countless dogs are without homes and in need of assistance. These are dogs who would make wonderful and faithful companions if only they could connect with the right person or family. We have made it our mission to help them do this. At the same time we hope to enrich the lives of those who adopt them.

We strive to match our dog's needs and personality to the preferences and requirements of each potential adopter. We believe this is a crucial component of the process and will help ensure a life-long relationship.

Our primary focus is on small purebred or mixed breed dogs, although we do occasionally take in larger dogs. We work collaboratively with shelters, other rescue groups, and individuals, both locally and nationally.

PUP was established in May, 2006 and since that time has placed an ever increasing number of dogs into their forever homes!
