My story

Sally!     DOB: 5/2013    Weight: 90 lbs

Sally is now up for adoption! This sweet girl is getting closer to her weight goal every week! She started off at 90lbs and is now at 81lbs! Her goal is to lose about 30lbs to reach a healthy weight. Sally needs 1 Dasuquin chew daily for her joint health. That’s just something that comes with age. A bag of 84 chews cost about $50.

Sally is house and crate trained. She’s great with cats. She’s met younger kids (around 6) and seemed fine with them. Kids 10+ are preferred though. She’s older and young ones falling/messing with her will probably make her feel uncomfortable. She does well with dogs too, but don’t be surprised if she’s grumbly with them at first. She does have some cataracts and can’t see as well as she used too. She’ll bump into things occasionally, but overall gets around pretty okay for her age and health. She has no food or toys aggression. Loves green beans! She got a nice bath and blow dry with no complaints. She recently went to boarding and they love her! Enjoys car rides and getting lots of belly rubs. She’ll roll over for you to scratch her stomach. If you try to stop she’ll paw your hand and give you a nudge to keep going. Super sweet, quiet girl!

Her adoption fee is $100. That covers worming, vaccines, spay/neuter, heart worm test, and microchip. We offer a two week trial in which you can borrow items. If interested in adopting her please fill out an application on our website. pcpoundpuppies.com. Came to the shelter 5/2022.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process consists of an adoption application followed by an interview. Upon arriving at the shelter, each dog receives a Bordetella shot, DHPPC vaccination and worming. At the veterinarian's office, our dogs receive a rabies vaccination, a spay or neuter surgery, and are tested for heartworm. If a dog tests positive, we treat the dog and then retest to confirm that the treatment was successful. Additionally, our dogs are microchipped before going home with their new family. Adoption fees are $85 and help to cover the cost of vetting.
