My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing this handsome 4 year old, 52 pound gentleman we are calling Stoker. He arrived at the shelter after becoming lost on an adventure on 5/27. He is such a looker. His pictures do not do him justice. Stoker is as just as sweet as he is cute. He is extremely smart as he does know basic commands such as sit when asked, shake and other paw. Stoker may know more and would happily learn so much more. He is a very nice little pup who would prefer to live in a stable, decent loving home with a soft bed, lots of toys and treats, guidance, patience and lots and lots of unconditional love instead of a loud shelter. What pup wouldn't want that? Are you the right person to provide what Stoker needs and wants? If you are, please come spend some time with this angel and really get to know him and really make a solid commitment to him. He truly wants his dreams and desires to come true. He deserves it. Stoker is current on vaccines, already neutered, and will be micro chipped upon adoption. He will be gladly waiting for his forever person/family in Run 408 and his ID is 636726. Unfortunately, Stoker has tested positive for heartworms, a disease easily prevented with a once a month pill that his former family apparently did not give him. Stoker has started treatment at the shelter and received his first injection on Aug. 15. With treatment, dogs who have heartworms usually go on to live long and healthy lives.

Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.
