My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bubbanberg's Facebook Page

6-05-2022: I've been wanting to name an English dog Uhtred of Bebbanberg since the last season of THE LAST KINGDOM came out on Netflix. This is probably as close as I am going to get as Bubbanberg needed a new fancier name. His original name was Bubba- but I digress...
This sweet tri-color and white Setter was rescued from some hunt club in Nebraska by his current caretaker Tony (who coincidentally is from North London) last November. He was living in a small cage and as his owner had passed away- the club was going to give him to the state. Tony brought him home and he and Effy and their kids have been taking care of him- but realize he would be better suited for a family that has more breed experience. He was tested positive for Lyme disease several months ago but only treated a month- and I had new blood work done and he is back on 2 antibiotics for the Lyme now. I also suspect that he may have a Giardia (protozoan) infection from the pond water. He's very thin - you can see his ribs and hip bones and his appetite has been sporadic. Effy also said that he was shedding very badly and Lyme disease can affect the thyroid and can cause hair loss. His hair is a little strange on his back end and he doesn't have long tail feathers.
Bubbanberg needs a Foster to Adopt family in the Chicago with a safe traditional fenced in yard. He is being kept in the yard by an electronic collar now. As Lyme disease is not curable-- but manageable, he will need a conscientious adopter that will take him into my vet (preferred because he understands how to test and treat) annually. It is going to take him some time to put on the 7-10 pounds he needs before we can neuter him too. He is not house trained and would benefit from cage/outside training and also perhaps a belly band. Going outside in a fenced in yard will also help with that.
