My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi Hi Hi!!!

My name is Yoshi. Is that not the coolest name EVER???!!!

So there I was running around town like I owned it. Apparently, others did not agree with that idea. I was picked up by the local dog pound - a prisoner even though I didn't do anything wrong! At least I didn't think I did. Guess people were just concerned about my well being.

I was there for waaay too long. I guess you know what that means :( Thankfully, a new officer to the force could not stand the thought of me being sent over the rainbow bridge. What a Godsend!! This angel to me home with him and desperately tried to find me a home, even appealing to the town to train me as a K9 officer. I would have been excellent in that job!

Unfortunately, a small town such as that had no budget for something as awesome as that. So, that's I how I came to be at Lucies.

I'm extremely intelligent, know how to sit and am crate trained. I can learn anything!! Ok, maybe I'm bragging a bit. My leash training is coming along, but I'm no where near the show ring - YET. ;)

I'm young and full of energy and if properly exercised, I'll be easy to train

I will require a very active family with at least a 6 foot fence.

So....what are you waiting for?? Inquire about me!!.

Additional adoption info

Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!

More about this rescue

Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound!

We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever homes. We do depend on donations to help out, and will accept food, medication, bedding, fostering, and direct donations to Veterinarians.
