My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mya, a stunning female feline with a personality as unique as her captivating green eyes. While she may not be the most sociable with her fellow felines, Mya is an absolute sweetheart with humans, craving affection and companionship. This independent diva enjoys lounging in sunspots and playing with her favorite toys, showing off her graceful agility. With a patient and understanding owner willing to give her the love and attention she deserves, Mya will undoubtedly thrive and become a cherished member of the family, bringing joy and charm into every moment shared together.

More about this shelter

The Aberdeen Area Humane Society serves the northern South Dakota and southern North Dakota area. We are here in the interests of animal welfare. We place homeless animals into good homes as well as rescue animals from abusive situations. We have a shelter facility just southwest of Aberdeen and house many animals while we try to find them good homes. We are a non-profit organization and are funded by memberships, donations, fundraisers and adoptions.

If you suspect an animal is being mistreated and/or abused, contact us. We will investigate or refer to the appropriate agency. Your call can be kept confidential and we will handle the rest.
