My story

FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60634
COLOR/BREED: Black Short/Medium Hair

Rip came to us from an underserved area in Louisiana.

Rip’s foster parent said he is the sweetest, calmest cat she has ever known (and she’s known a lot of cats!). Nothing ruffles this guy’s feathers; he barely bothers to turn his head when the dogs bark at something. One of his favorite activities is to snuggle with you and make biscuits on you. If someone is lounging he loves to be there with them, but if everyone is occupied he is happy to look out the window or interact with one of the other animals. His foster describes him as calm, sweet, loving, playful.

Rip is very chill and does not startle easily, and was previously fostered with an 11 year old child, so he would be a great option for homes with children. Rip is being fostered with dogs, and immediately took to them and follows them around like he is one of the pack. Rip is a very adaptable cat who will do great in all kinds of home situations.

Rip has been diagnosed with chronic destructive rhinitis. This means that upper respiratory infections have permanently damaged his sinuses. Rip is such a happy cat, that he does not seem to be bothered by this, but he will always have some level of congestion and has a runny nose most days. Although he is good with other cats, Rip should be adopted as an only cat because he will always be at an increased risk of upper respiratory infections that he will potentially spread to any feline housemates.

Are you the special person who is willing to open their home to a special needs cat? He will repay you with a lifetime of love and affection. If you are interested in adopting Rip the first step is to complete the adoption application on our website:

Why adoption is a great option

Rip, a Frankfort Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Frankfort, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Frankfort.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Frankfort already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Frankfort breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Frankfort paves the way for another one to be saved.
