SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Cookie is a beautiful male Aussie mix who is still a puppy. We believe he will likely be 60 pounds fully grown. He is in great health and is fully vetted. Cookie was originally adopted by a family who had no history with the breed, and did not understand his needs. He is under-socialized and it appears he was under fed, making him want to gobble and protect his food now. Cookie would benefit from being adopted by an experienced owner/handler with a safe and secure yard for exercise and play. He has the potential to be an awesome, loving pet in the right hands, and grows very fond of his humans quickly.
Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
