Located in Greenville, South Carolina, but will transport to his perfect family.
He will do best as the only dog for now. He likes to go on walks and hikes with other dogs, but needs to spend some time understanding his role in the family and feeling loved. We estimate Louie is 3-4 years old. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccines, and has completed training with The Dog Wizard. Because of this training, Louie can attend weekly support/maintenance classes at any Dog Wizard location in the country. Two things Louie dislikes are crates and cats.
Louie is very smart and picks up on new commands quickly. He is much more encouraged and motivated by love and affection than food. He likes completing tasks and jobs, so I believe he may be particularly good as a working, sporting, or performance dog. Louie is still overly excitable when he sees new dogs, so he will need someone to continue working on that together. He is incredibly athletic and light on his feet.
He is excellent at knowing that when he is indoors, he needs to remain calmer than if he were outdoors playing. Any dog will enjoy a yard of their own, but Louie really enjoys being by his human’s hip, so he particularly enjoys walks, runs, hikes, and long drives. When at home, Louie does not want to be crated. He has extreme crate anxiety due to the way he was abandoned. He will go right inside a crate easily if you tell him “crate” but becomes extremely upset once locked in. However, Louie is very good when left home alone and tends to just stare out the window and play with a few toys. Louie is also very gentle when playing with toys and taking treats.
