My story

Meet Teak!

Teak entered the San Diego Humane Society in Oceanside as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on June 8th to become a Frosted Face. He is estimated to be around 18 years old and weighs 10 lbs. Despite being a senior gentleman, Teak is a total Frosted Faker, which is what we call pups who act much younger than their years! On our weekly Sunday hikes, he trots along eagerly for at least a mile and a half, greeting his Frosted friends and other volunteers along the way with an enthusiastic tail wag. He is described as the perfect walking buddy.

Onsite  at FFF, Teak makes friends with other little Frosted Faces in the play yard and seeks out the open laps of our staff and volunteers. This little guy loves to cuddle! He is so sweet that when volunteers bend down to pick him up, he does a little hop to help them lift him into the car! Teak is also a perfect gentleman in the car and settles into a lap immediately.

Teak recently returned from a two-week Frosted Fling, and we learned that he is a easy-going, well-behaved sweetheart in a home. We learned that Teak loves to eat and isn't picky about the type of dog food. He loves going on walks, has great leash manners, and can walk over mile easily. Teak knows what "outside" means and goes potty right away. He is good at bath time and does well with other dogs.

His Fling Mom shares: Teak has been a love to have with us and has many great qualities. He loves to cuddle and sleep under the covers, and he waits for you to ask him to come up on your lap. He will make himself comfy there or next to you. Teak is a "youthful" senior - he hears and sees well and doesn't take any medication. I can't wait to see what lucky family will become his forever family. We'll miss you, Teak!"

Teak is being overlooked by potential adopter when they visit - possibly due to his age - but he really does appear to have the stamina and energy of a much younger dog, and is so ready to find family! He should be on everyone's short list for a friendly, easygoing, well-mannered companion. And does anyone look better in a bowtie?!
