I love my foster mom! Wherever she goes, I go. I am a shih tzu mix and about a year and a half. I don’t chew on anything except my dog toys. I do sometimes like to move my humans shoes around. I don’t chew on them or hurt them at all. I just think its fun to put them in a different place because how much fun it is to always know where both your shoes are that you want to wear.
I prefer a fenced yard. A wood fence would be best. My current foster family has a fenced backyard. I love to run and chase the bunnies and squirrels, and I bark at the dogs on all sides of the fence, but I don’t necessarily want to run over and play with them. I am so helpful when you make the bed. I lay right down in the middle when you are making it! I am not afraid of much - lawn mowers or vacuums even! My current foster has a boat down on the Mississippi River, I jumped right onto the boat and love being in the front bow and watching all the boats and dogs go by.
I also like to go on walks around the neighborhood. I do like to bark at other dogs, especially when I am higher than them or they are on the other side of the fence. I don’t dislike other dogs but I will need slow introductions. I like to keep my distance from other dogs. About 6 feet is good for me. I am friendly and kind to other dogs but I love my human family and I prefer to be the only family dog.
I am not hypoallergenic. My fur is coarse and does shed some. I will need to be groomed regularly but I sit perfect for brushing.
Adoption Fee: $695

**Note on breed and age determination:
Breed and age are often determined on appearance, our own knowledge, veterinarian advice, and/or information from the sending shelters or previous owners. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:
~ Healing Hearts rescue will also provide dental procedures, bloodwork, surgeries, and/or any other additional vet work as needed while dogs are in our care.
â~ Adoption fees are non-negotiable and fees are listed on the dog's profile
~ Adoption fees can be paid the following ways with the required sales tax (7.525%) added:
