My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kenobi is one big, handsome Lab who is looking for his forever home! We are expecting a lot of interest in him, so before submitting an application please make sure you read through the following information to ensure he would be a good fit for your home.

Kenobi is a 2 year old purebred English Lab who came to us as an owner surrender. He previously lived with young children and while he came from a happy home, they were unable to keep him when they moved. He has been in a foster home since coming into our care and has lived with other dogs in foster and done well with them.

Kenobi clearly lived a very sheltered life without many boundaries prior to coming to rescue. He does not have very good leash manners, will bark and lunge at people and other dogs on walks when he wants to say hello, and is quite overweight. In his foster home he has learned to walk a bit better on leash (unless he smells something interesting enough to make him forget his manners!), play with other dogs, and swim. He could potentially live with another dog in his new home, but it would have to be an extremely playful dog that does not mind a very large dog that does not understand boundaries.

He needs a family that will take him on as a project and continue his training and socialization. A fenced in yard would be ideal for him but not required. He can get a bit jumpy and mouthy when playing, although like a typical lab he has a very gentle mouth even when overexcited, so we would prefer not to have him with very young children.

If you think he would be the right match for you, you can submit an application at the link below. We will be reviewing applications as quickly as we can but please be patient as we are expecting to get substantial interest in him. First priority will go to families with fenced in yards, prior training experience (or a willingness to work with a trainer), and children over 10 years old. Please make sure you submit the application complete with all of the contact information for your references.
