My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Breaking news… The city of San Antonio saves 33 dogs from a hoarding situation.
I was one of these dogs and my name is Pete. I am a handsome black and brown Chihuahua mix, tall and lean, (maybe some min pin mixed in?) I’m about 2 years old and I weigh 11 lbs. I am very grateful to be out of the chaos and living a normal dog life, but change can be very scary for a little dog. Groups of us were huddled together in fear and confusion at the city pound but thankfully 4 Little Paws Rescue took in almost half of us and placed us all in a very nice doggy daycare where we had individual attention, playtime, and our very own doggy beds. Fast forward a couple of months and I am currently living in Connecticut in a very nice foster home. I am a sweet little boy, still shy at first but always with a gentle disposition. I just need time to adjust and get comfortable so I can gain confidence and know I am a loved member of the family. You should know that I possess many wonderful qualities besides the obvious one (I’m adorable). I am quiet and housebroken and I can walk on a leash. I get along great with other dogs and right now my best friend is a pretty dog named Dora and we LOVE to play! I am well-behaved and I am easy.. meaning, if you want to dress me up and put a silly bow on my head I will be perfectly fine with that! I am affectionate and kind and at night I will tip-toe into your room and crawl in bed with you. In the morning, there I will be, and you might not even notice until you see me gazing at you lovingly. Yes, I believe I am ready for the last leg of my journey where I find my own forever home. I would do best with a built-in playmate to help me overcome some shyness and make for a smooth transition. If you are patient and kind and have lots of love and snuggles to give then I think we are a perfect match and I would love to meet you!
