My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wryker! He is a male German Shepherd born 1/25/22 who weighs about 80 lbs. He’s a typical young GSD, full of energy, Velcro to his people, follows his nose and is curious. He’s potty trained, knows sit and is working on down, stay, and wait; he is treat and food motivated. He lives with other dogs his size, little dogs and dog savvy cats. He is currently learning boundaries with little dogs because he’s too big to play with them and doesn’t always know when to stop. He’s also learning about enrichment toys, recall, and fetch. He likes to snuggle with his people.
Wyker will require a home with breed experience, who will continue training.
Wryker has been raised with children ages 6 and up and would best in a home without toddlers.
He would do best in a home with another canine companion or a home with a person who can keep him physically and mentally stimulated. Long periods alone are not ideal for this breed.
We do require home ownership (no apartments please) and a minimum 5 foot fence.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption application to be filled out which includes personal references. An in-Home check by a Mikey's Chance volunteer is also performed prior to adoption. Our dogs come to the adopter "ready-to-go" with current Vet health checks, all shots and vaccinations current and the animal spayed or neutered, as well as micro-chipped.

Our adoption process can take 2-4 weeks to process as we are run completely by volunteers, all of whom work full time jobs.

Go meet their pets

We depend on a network of volunteers and fosters for the care of our dogs. The dogs are fostered primarily in Tri-Cities, WA. We often have Meet 7 Greet events at Petsmart and Paws Natural Pet Emporium LLC both in Kennewick.

To find out about these and our other events check us out on Facebook or at our website at MikeysChance.com.

More about this rescue

"Mikey's Chance" is a dog rescue organization organized under Washington State articles of Incorporation as a Non-profit Charity. We focus mainly on saving dogs that are at risk or on “Death Row” in shelters in our area, and placing them to great families. We work with individual adopters, private rescuers, and rescue organizations that share our values. All our dogs are up to date on shots, sterilized, and microchipped prior to adoption, and they are all carefully evaluated to ensure the best possible match with adopters.
