My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Obi
Nickname: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ohb kahbohb.
Breed: Pittie Mix
Weight: 75 pounds
Sex: Male
Age: ~5.5 years
Before OMD: Obi was a stray who found himself at a city shelter, very uncomfortable with horrible skin issues. He was adopted from the shelter after a few months, but it was quickly determined he needed more care than the adopter could offer. She reached out to OMD and we were happy to make room for this handsome hunk. He’s now feeling (and looking!) good after getting his skin infections under control and entropion surgery to correct his eyelids.
Energy Level: A sneaky medium. He's either sound asleep, or bouncing around the yard.
Doppelganger: An oblivious horse who hasn't quite mastered the art of full trotting.
Self Appointed: OMD Foodie. He loves eating, snacking, tasting, and sampling.
Also: A hitchhiker. If he had thumbs, they would always be up. He's always up for a ride to wherever you're going. He'll pretty much go anywhere, with anyone.
What makes us laugh: He likes to chew on logs, sticks are way too easy.
What we love: His gentle spirit. How he's a friend to all. How he's so lovably doofy and clumsy at times. There was also that one time he gleefully licked one of our rescue coordinator's glasses straight off her face.
What he knows: Sit. Stay. Down...but does he listen? Debatable. When we first met him, we questioned if he was deaf.
Conclusion: not deaf, just blissfully stubborn.
Kids: Due to his general doofyness and obliviousness, he would be best with sturdy dog-savvy kiddos.
Dogs: Sure! He has done well with dogs he's met and is currently fostered with another male dog.
Cats: We suspect he would do just fine with dog-savvy cats who aren't phased by some chasing.
Crate trained: Yes!
House trained: Yes again!

Obi is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He's available for adoption to residents of CT and surrounding states. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an application from omdrescue.org.
