My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Need a handsome boy to love? Meet Rocky! He is a sweet, loving and gentle 8 1/2 months old, appx 60 pound, Australian Shepard, Labrador and Mastiff mix. This darling boy was named

Rocky because of the black patch around his eye he has gorgeous light gold eyes.. He is on the shy side until he gets to know you, though give him a Salmon treat and he will love you forever.

He is looking for a new home where he can be spoiled and loved. His current family is elderly and not up to the task of raising a puppy, though most of the hard work has been done. Rocky would be fine as an only dog with your constant companionship, he is not an outside dog and will need someone human or animal to play with when outside. He is a happy boy and eager to please, especially for a TREAT! He loves chicken too. PLEASE get me LOTS of toys! Kong type that are hard to destroy are ideal! Rocky knows the command, Come, Sit and Stay. He will stand up on his hind legs for treats! He is well mannered in the house and loves to snuggle on the couch and give kisses. He is an affectionate boy. Rocky has not been walked on a regular basis so he will need some leash training though he does walk nicely. Rocky is house broken and will paw at the door to be let out so you will need to watch his signs. We expect accidents when adjusting to a new home. Rocky can jump / climb a fence so please be homeowner with a securely fenced yard. Rocky is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. He is waiting to begin a new adventure with you and has been around children 7 years and above, he is great with very small dogs and those his own size. Rocky is an all-around great puppy! We appreciate that you are interested in one or more of our dogs or cats for adoption. Here is a list of things that should help us answer you in a more timely manner.

1. When you apply please always use the same email address. If we need to look something up later and you used a different email we are often not able to find it.

2. Adopt a Pet and Petfinders ask you to send us an enquiry. This always delays our response. (Why)

a. Our biographies are always very detailed. Therefore sending an enquiry asking us to repeat what it says in the biography causes a lot more work and delays our response.

b. We are a small non-profit and do not always have the help to answer as many enquiries as we get.

c. Again our Biographies are very detailed and if you just click the link near the bottom of their bio you can fill out an application which we will respond to.

3. For the AFC website (scroll down to the bio at the bottom it says (apply to adopt today- click that link) www.animalfriendsconnect.org

4. For Petfinders ( scroll down to the biography then click the adoption link) http://animalfriendsconnect.org/adoption-application-dogs/

5. For Adopt a Pet (scroll way down past “Ask about me”) you will see the biography and underneath that will be the adoption questionnaire link.
We are closed on Sundays unless you make prior arrangements and schedule an appointment
