My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Adoptable Frankie! I am a healthy, young, and goofy boy who is looking for an experienced and dedicated forever family. You see, the thing is I am only 2 years old and have had way too much transition in my life, so I have picked up some not so nice behaviors. My foster mom calls me “Baby Frankie” because I am really like an overgrown toddler. Just a puppy in a big boy body. I need a lot of consistency, stimulation, fresh air, sunshine, adequate nap time and DON’T FORGET MY SNACKS! When I get my needs met, I am really a good boy but when I don’t, I will get bored and go looking for some trouble…. and a STUBBORN BULLDOG I AM.

I have been evaluated by a nice trainer lady (she has some really good snacks) and she thinks I am going to do great with the right structure and a little time to learn that my puppy behaviors may not be serving me very well anymore. They are hard to give up, but I am already doing so much better! She says I need about 1.5 hours of active stimulation, most of those lazy bulldogs need a little less. The good news is that I am game for it all! I love working for my food, going for walks, practicing my sits, sharing my paw, car rides, and especially going for strolls or hanging outside in my special doggie buggy.

I have a nose rope and a crazy tail pocket, so I need to have my hygiene needs tended to a couple times a week but am I more than happy to let you do it all, I even kind of like it. These good looks don’t come for free you know. I am SO handsome. My coat and skin are so soft and beautiful, so everybody just wants to give me pets and scrunches all the time.

I love greeting people on the street and all strangers are my quick friends. I am potty trained but I am not against taking an occasional poop on the floor (really….only occasionally). I think I would really love a playmate but I am a little rough so it would have to be a goofy submissive friend that matches my energy level and is willing to put up with me. I have 2 foster sisters and I really like being around them but they aren’t really sure about me. They have been trying to teach me things and I don’t really listen. I am getting a little better, but I just can’t understand why they just won’t play with me!!?? Maybe they are just a couple of cranky ladies? Probably….

I wouldn’t do really well being left alone all day so a family that is around a little more and has some extra time for me is best. At least for a couple of months until I can feel settled and safe. Foster lady is trying to get me into this “veggie sausage” thing?? I’m just not really into it. She says I’m a bit chonky (10lbs min ...something?…bla…bla… blaaa…) and it’s not really good for my legs. I say whatever, but she’s the boss.

I need an experienced bulldog family that really believes in my full potential. My requirements are mostly that you are seriously dedicated to helping me get to the best version of myself and I promise I will make it worthwhile and be the best companion possible. I do ok with older teens but no babies or young children please. I would really love to have a yard to lay in the grass or at least some private outside space. I LOVE to lay in the sun and nap. As much as I really love my foster family, the sooner that I find my forever home is best for me. I need a place that I can finally call “Home” forever. Are you out there?? (Oh, and no veggie sausages! Some low-carb treats perhaps?)
