Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We found Rosie accidentally. Her owner asked if we wanted to have her because she was sick and couldn't take care of her. Rosie was very scared and appeared to be somewhat neglected. We had to carry her out of the house to get her home. We never meant to keep her, but we thought it best to help her trust people again.
We have had her for 2 years, and she has become very social with us, our cats, bunny, and other dog. We think she is ready for her long term home! She has her annual vet appointment next week, so she is well cared for. She is easily startled, but is comforted by sitting with a person. She is very loving. She is also indepedent in that she doesn't demand attention.
This dog would do best with someone who can give her calm, loving care. She is fine with other animals; in fact, I think she loves to be with other dogs - they seem to help her remember how to be a fun and active dog. She otherwise can become sedate and appear depressed.
