My story

8-month-old Jackson is looking for his forever people!

Jackson is the cutest little floofball there is! Despite being deaf, Jackson is incredibly smart and it doesn’t slow him down. He’s picking up hand signs and learning from watching his big foster siblings, who he gets along with great! Jackson was recently diagnosed with Megaesophagus and needs a family that can support him so that he can live out his best life ever!

What is Megaesophagus and how is it treated?

Megaesophagus is a disorder in which the esophagus dilates and loses its ability to move food to the stomach. This causes the food to accumulate in the esophagus and can lead to regurgitation.

Overall treatment involves managing the symptoms to help the food go down to digest. Jackson will need to be fed ALL his meals in a Bailey Chair (second photo) which gets him in an upright position about 45-90 degrees to the floor and will need to remain in the chair for at least 15 minutes after feeding. He already is great at getting in his chair and staying in it to eat!

If you feel like you are the perfect fit for Jackson and ready to give him all the support he needs in return for cute cuddles, loads of fun, and cuteness in his very own high chair then visit

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process has several stages to ensure our huskies are going to qualified, educated, loving forever homes. All TXHR huskies are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations, taking heartworm prevention, and are microchipped prior to adoption. Adoption fees* are $250 for males, $275 for females, and $300 for puppies under 6 months. NOTE: $50 is non-refundable if the husky is returned during the trial period. *The fee is an extra $10 (260/285/310) if paying by PayPal. Step 1. Apply Online Step 2. Once your application is received, we will conduct a thorough screening process which includes a vet check of your current pets and a phone screen/interview by one of our adoption coordinators. Step 3. After your vet check and phone screen are completed successfully, TXHR will conduct a fence/home check. This is a check for gaps, broken slats, holes, compromised spots, etc where a husky could escape. Please do a walk of the perimeter of your fence and fix all problem spots before we come to your home. Step 4. Upon successful completion of the application process, a TXHR adoption counselor will set up a meet and greet with you and the husky you have applied for. Once you determine you would like to adopt the husky, you must sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee before taking possession of the husky. Step 5. All adoptions start with a 5 day trial period to ensure the husky is a good fit in your home and lifestyle.

More about this rescue

Mission: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas and beyond. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed. History: Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
