My story

Meet Jake...he came in as a stray but was not claimed, so he is here looking for a home. He is an adorable black and white male terrier who loves to play. He is on the younger side at 2 years old. He received his rabies vaccine and the vet said he was 2 in age. He loves squeaky toys and treats! He also loves to have his back scratched. According to our volunteers he seems ok around the other dogs. He has sniffed other dogs through the fence in the play area, but has not been officially dog tested. Please prepare to do a meet and greet if you already have a dog in the home. We are not sure about how he would be around cats. This smart fella knows sit, paw and lay down. If you would like to meet or adopt him please visit the Taylor Animal Shelter. Our new hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 3 pm. We are closed from 11:30am-12:30pm for lunch. Then we open promptly at 12:30 pm and continue operating until 3 pm. We are also open the first Saturday of every month. Please come visit and bring home a new companion! We are located at 25555 Northline Rd.

Why adoption is a great option

Jake, a Taylor American Staffordshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Taylor, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Taylor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Taylor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Taylor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Taylor paves the way for another one to be saved.
