My story

URGENT FOSTER/ADOPTER NEEDED!

Loki is a sweet and loving Doberman mix. About 3 years old. His loving demeanor makes him the greatest addition to any family. He loves to play with stuffy toys and is a great indoor large breed companion. He enjoys going on walks and relaxing in his bed or sun bathing outside. He is very gentle with kids and isn’t bothered easily by commotion. He is microchipped and up to date of vetting and shots. Loki has had his two-week training, too.

From Loki's foster:

"I am currently Loki's foster but have only been able to care for him through my job by kenneling him there. After this weekend I have realized that boarding him is not helping him much and possibly making him more excited or reactive. I am not able to keep him in my home due to having too many dogs myself but him not getting along with my male German shepherd but this weekend I kept him at my home to see if I noticed a difference in him. Loki needs to be in a home environment where he can relax and trust. I was even able to introduce him to my newest puppy and he was not reactive at all. I can tell he misses being in a home and interacting with others dogs he familiar with. It pains me to have to board him but it's my best option at the moment but I want nothing but the absolute best for him. He is an amazing dog! You can see in the video, he just wants some love and attention. Very easy to please. Very laid back guy who wants the occasional walk. He has to be the only male in the household but does well with females when introduced properly. There has been little interest from people and I get it is difficult to place a large dog. I've done some meet and greets but they have been homes that have other pets or had an unaltered male and I'm not sure how that will go & I do not want him to fail due to potential owners not understanding his needs. He needs patient owner/foster to work with him everyday. I am not giving up on him! But am asking for some help please help me find a home that Loki can
flourish in. Again he is an amazing dog that that needs some structure and love. I am doing best but I'm feeling like that is not enough. He deserves more."

More about this rescue

Karina Macias always loved pets, but after witnessing a tragic accident where a careless driver hit a dog and let him die on the street, she decided to take action helping vulnerable animals and got involved in a local rescue. She helped transporting, fostering, and donating money to save animals from shelters or from owners who for different reasons were unable to care for their pets. Over the years, her passion intensified and with little resources decided to start in 2017 her own nonprofit organization, “Angels with Me”. Karina’s goal is to focus in helping the most unfortunate, less desirable dogs due to their old age, blindness, or other qualities that make them not wanted or less attractive for adoption. She dreams of having a sanctuary where pets can live their last days with dignity and love. She is aware that many organizations are working hard to rescue pets and place them in a good family, but there is a great need to find people who have great compassion for dogs who are old, mixed breed, very sick or handicapped. These are the harder to give in adoption, Karina states. Most people look for the nice, fluffy dogs or puppies. The ones left behind are the less adoptable usually being euthanized. “It breaks my heart when a dog is not wanted. I don’t have children at this moment, but I believe happiness is being a wonderful fur mom. It means giving love, attention, and caring for the voiceless ‘Unconditionally,'” Karina proudly said. Her regular job is working with children. She feels attracted to take care of kids who are also innocent and vulnerable and are in need of lots of affection. Her heart is big enough to love animals and humans alike. She also enjoys reading and practicing martial arts. Donations will someday help her build her dream sanctuary or afford to rent and open a local rescue. Sometimes it’s very hard for Angels With Me to have enough funds to buy food and other needs for the dogs/cats while waiting for a good adoptive parent. Karina is asking for your help to save furry angels that can make a difference in the lives of people in distress, war veterans, children, etc. We want to thank you in advance for your generous donation.
