My story

DOB: March 2019

Meet River:

Special Needs: FIV positive.

Rescued several months ago from the freezing cold, River has been “thawing” in the shelter, growing more confident and more comfortable day by day. With his melting gaze and lush coat, he’s captured everyone’s heart, and has not only grown accustomed to but welcomes head pets and cheek and chin rubs, often asking paw-litely for even more. Now a fastidious self-groomer and famously fond of wet food, River really hopes to continue life’s loving journey with patient and attentive adopters in a tranquil fur-ever home.

Go meet their pets

Currently, we have a private Shelter for our animals so it is by appointment only. However we also have a partnership with Pet Value in Aurora (Bayview and Aurora Road) where many cats and kittens are also housed.

We attend local Fairs, Events such as "All About Pets" Show in Toronto, for example, and other fund-raising events during the year in the Toronto area.

More about this rescue

North Toronto Cat Rescue is a registered Canadian charrity made up of dedicated volunteers concerned with the welfare of all cats and kittens. We rescue, foster, provide veterinary care (including blood testing, vaccines and spay/neuter) and arrange adoptions for abandoned or rescue felines.

For ten years, North Toronto Cat Rescue has been helping hundreds of souls in need wherever we find them, offering love, nourishment, safety, medical care and the hope of a "forever" home.

We are not a spay/neuter and release group as we believe all these animals deserve comfot, warmth and love, particularly during the long cold winter days here in Canada. They will remain with us until they find a permanent home.
