My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marissa came to us as part of a farm help project that we worked on in the early part of 2021. At intake Marissa was shy and not too sure that she had been brought into a good situation but in time, she began to trust us and see that life indoors was a good thing and that she didn't have to worry about the perils that come with outdoor living ever again.

Marissa is a large gal, very overweight and in need of someone, or a family, that can keep her active and monitor her food intake so that she can slim down and start to do things that cats her age do. We've been providing her with weight management food, but she needs more than than and while we do our best, she really would do much better in a home of her own.

She loves her people once she knows them. She will seek you out for attention and will take all you have to give her. She likes long strokes down her back and gentle massages on her shoulders. She's a fan of crunchy treats but will settle for a soft treat or two if that's what you have to offer. She's not a jumper, but will allow you to assist her to get up on a chair to sit by you. She's great with other cats and very tolerant of the younger one's antics. Her favorite resting place is in a cubby. She is good with children but has a more laid back personality that would fit best with a calmer environment (but one that has enough stimulation to drive some weight loss). Not tested with dogs directly, but in passing seems unphased by them.

Marissa is one very special girl and she deserves nothing short of the very best. Please consider her and if she's tugging at you, come meet her and see for yourself just how wonderful she is.

Marissa's DOB is approx. 4/10/2016.
