Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brewer
Chocolate Labrador Retriever
Male
10 years old
86 lbs.
Hello, friend! I’m Brewer and I’m the sweetest, most lovable guy who can’t wait to find a forever home of my very own.
I’m friendly, affectionate, and I just adore everyone I meet. I get super excited for walks and even learned how to use a doggy door at my foster home. (I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks!) And while I love my daily strolls, I’m a really easy going pup and I enjoy hanging out with my foster family and getting lots of love at home (I also do just fine being left home alone as well!)
I do great with other dogs (I’d prefer an easy going friend in a forever home since I’m a bit past my “playing all the time” days) and I also am amazing with the cats in my foster home! I also am really happy around kiddos so I think I’d do great in a home with gentle kid friends as well. I do sometimes get a little snappy with dogs on leash if they get too much in my face so I prefer introductions with dogs off leash or just a slow leash introduction.
Since I’m a Lab, I’m food motivated, as you might guess. I know the cues “sit,” “down” and “stay”…especially if there’s a treat involved! I’m potty trained, of course, and love playing tug with a rope toy or chasing a tennis ball.
I’m in really good health for a pup in his golden years! I just had a dental so my teeth/mouth are in much better shape now. I’ve also been losing a bit of weight in my foster home and I’d appreciate a forever home who can continue to help me get to a bit of a healthier weight. I do have some “old man lumps” but my nice vet said they are all just benign! I’d benefit from some general joint supplement support as well.
