My story

***Tina is currently at our Tarrytown, GA location.

Tina has one of the most compelling rescue stories in SoCo history.   Southern Comfort Animal Rescue was contacted about a dog in a dumpster. The man who called was unable to get into the dumpster to free the dog. Apparently, she had been in there for a couple days, probably searching for food. When Scott Bennett arrived, he found this precious little girl at the bottom of a pile of trash. She was clearly starving and very weak. After giving her some water, he wanted to see if she would lead him to her puppies. At first, she started walking with him on the leash. Then she stopped and would walk further perhaps worried about his intentions.  As you can see in the video, after he removed the leash, the mama dog started trotting through the woods. Scott followed her up and down and all around hoping she would lead him to her litter. Eventually, they came to an abandoned house and underneath, there was a litter of puppies.   Mama lay day and let them nurse, likely the first time in days.  They were safely transported to the rescue.  All of Tina's puppies have been adopted and now it's her turn to find a forever true home.

Tina is a layer-back friendly girl.  She enjoys walks with the staff and has not shown any aggression towards other dogs.  She is moderately  active and would be good in a low-key home where she has time for walks and time for the couch.  She will not go the bathroom in her kennel so will most likely be easy to house train!

Tina's  heart worm status is currently unknown.  You can shorten her time at the rescue and help her find her forever true home by offering to sponsor her.  Read about our sponsorship program at www.socorescue.com
