My story

HEY AKITA LOVER!! Beautiful Belle desperately needs an immediate foster!! We have only a few more days to find this girl at least a temporary home or her owner will turn her into the local pound! She’s now 5, weighs about 80lbs, and has been in a home since she was 8wks old. She will NOT do well in a kennel or shelter! She is a typical aloof Akita… loyal to her person, observant and quiet. The difference though, is that her loyalties shift if you have plenty of treats! After just a few minutes of meeting, and with a handful of treats, she’ll come to sit by your side and will become fast friends. She’s an easy going girl so a calm home would be best. Her owner is moving out of the country within the next week so he says she must go! We are hoping to find a foster home for her for a few weeks, until we can get her spayed. She will then be available for adoption. She is current with her vaccines. She tolerates other dogs but she’d do best as the only dog in the home. NO kitties please! Because she’s a big girl and somewhat reserved, kids must be over 14yrs old. She must have a 6ft securely fenced yard. During foster, all supplies are provided.

Why adoption is a great option

IMMEDIATE FOSTER NEEDED!!, a Auburn Akita dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita for sale in Auburn, or seeking a Akita dog from a breeder in Auburn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Auburn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Auburn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita breeders who help with Akita rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Auburn paves the way for another one to be saved.
