Pedro is a fun name.... so appropo for a dog born in TX :) Pedro is spanish for Peter but I definitely like the name Pedro better...know why?? Cause it has a softer and more macho sound :) Like, ANDELE ANDELE PEDRO!! Vamanos! I am a great boy, young and I had a tough start to life- living in a hoarding situation with all my relatives... parents, siblings, half siblings, aunts and uncles and grandparents..... not a good situation- unless you are from Kentucky :) I am still a little scared/nervous from my formative months without a lot of socialization... however, I have been working hard (and so have my rescuers) to get me much more comfortable in new situations and with new people. I would be great in a home with another confident and friendly dog, older kids or no kids and lots of love. If that sounds like your home, then I am in!! Adopt me, fill out the application and lets blow this popsicle stand!!

Adoptions applications are checked by contacting references and veterinarians of those with pets to ensure our pups go to the best homes possible. We work hard to place dogs into the right families, but sometimes we realize the fit isn't quite working out for the adopter or the pet..
If an adoption does not work out and we have room to take the dog back into the rescue, we will. However, the sheer number of needy animals in TX usually means we become full quickly after the dog is adopted. So, in those cases we will post the animal locally, and help the adopter screen applicants and facilitate finding another adoptive home for the pet in your area.
