Meet Simba! We are estimating he is 7 months old. We believe he is an Akita/Husky mix, so he's going to be a big boy!

Simba is a lovable goofball. He is playful, curious, smart, and outgoing. Because Simba is a husky he is vocal and loves to talk and let you know when he wants something. He needs a very active dog to play with and who can run in the yard for endless hours - Simba does not tire easily. He’s extremely handsome and eager to please. He definitely needs to be in a home with a yard and/or with an active family. He would also do well with children in the house to run around with (at least 8 years or older).

Adopters must be located within 200 miles or less of Los Angeles County. We are requiring children in the home be 8+ years or older.

Our adoption fee is $550. Our rescue covers his microchip, vaccinations to adoption date and neuter when he is about six months old.

If you're interested in Simba, you must fill out an application here:

**No meet and greets prior to approved application**

** Upon approval and finishing the application process, you must be ready to meet and potentially take the dog/puppy on trial. We do not hold dogs for anyone**

**Due to the volume of messages we receive on all of our platforms, we do NOT send follow up emails to our applicants and do not reply to messages here on PetFinder. We’re a small, volunteer ran rescue so we can only do so much in 24 hours. Thank you for understanding!

Why adoption is a great option

Simba, a Santa Monica Akita/Husky dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Akita/Husky for sale in Santa Monica, or seeking a Akita/Husky dog from a breeder in Santa Monica.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Monica already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Monica breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Akita/Husky breeders who help with Akita/Husky rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Monica paves the way for another one to be saved.
