Deuce is eager to please the people he is attached to. Sits and lays down when asked. He is housetrained, takes his treats so gently, walks pretty good on a leash and loves being near those he loves. Well-mannered, does a tap dance when he is given his food and offers a kiss as a thank you. Deuce has a wonderful personality.
So sweet with all humans. Loves kids who will play ball with him, sit with him and give him lots of attention. Deuce can be playful but he enjoys quiet time with his humans too. He hasn't had a ton of experience with other dogs, so he'd prefer to start in a home as the only dog. He's still learning how to play and respect boundaries, but would be open to a meet & greet to see if it could work with resident dog.
Before Deuce was brought to animal control, he lived his life in the backyard, never allowed to be inside with the family. When he got out one day, the family turned him over saying they did not want him any more.
Please someone make him a loved part of their family this time. Deuce was pulled out of the animal control facility many months ago and placed into boarding by another rescue group . We are told he is urgent, as he is about to lose his financial support for boarding.
Deuce needs a foster or adopter ASAP to be saved!

This dog is currently in boarding or a shelter. S/he could really benefit from a foster home that could offer more one-on-one interaction and less crate time. If interested, we'd love for you to fill out our Foster Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Fosters).
Of course a permanent home is even better. If interested, please complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption)
Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation funded; unless otherwise noted above, please expect a minimal adoption fee of $300 to cover each pet's basic vetting.
