My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pumpkin is an adorable, fast, wiggly and healthy, seven-month-old male, tri-color Abyssinian guinea pig looking for a loving guardian.

This little guy came into rescue with his brother. They were bickering so their guardian had separated them. Their family suffered with allergies and asthma, and the woman worked increasingly long hours, so the boys were relinquished.

Pumpkin LOVES talking with other guinea pigs through the bars of his habitat. He may have a friend out there that he would get along with … but at the very least, he’d love a guinea pig right next door!

Pumpkin eats unlimited timothy, orchard, and botanical hays, a large fresh salad each day, and a small 1/8 cup of pellets. Guinea pigs need daily vitamin C which they get from fresh pellets, a 1-inch square of red bell pepper, or their dark leafy greens.

Please read up on guinea pig care and diet before adopting by visiting this excellent website http://www.guinealynx.info/

Pumpkin deserves a home with people who will love him, handle him daily, keep him well-fed, nails trimmed, and keep his habitat nice and clean.

His adoption fee of $25 benefits the friends of Petraits Rescue Group. For an additional $50, we’ll include a kit of absolutely everything you need to care for him including his cage, pellets, hay, hidey hut, treats, and water bottle.

He is being fostered in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood.
