Name: Rubeus Hagrid

Breed: A Pekingese! A Pekingese, I tell ya!

Weight: Approx 16 lbs.

Age: 7 years old

Personality: Rubeus is a reserved pup who really needs confidence building. After spending his life in a cage, used over and over for breeding, he is looking for a loving home who will teach him that the world is a good, loving place. Rubeus wants to be social and loved but is still learning how.

Home recommendation: Rubeus is looking for a rescue-experienced home that will work on building his confidence and giving him the space and time he needs to come around. He is such a wonderful, deserving dog who is ready to shine! He just needs some extra love and patience.

Kids: 10+ -- Rubeus is fine with kids and ignores them.

Dogs:Yes! We'd love Rubeus to go to a home with another dog and he is being fostered with multiple dogs.

Cats: Unknown, we only cat-test for approved adopters.

Crate Trained: Rubeus does not like the crate but does like his pen.

House Trained: Rubeus spent his entire life in a cage up until now. As such, he is still working on potty training.

Leash Manners: Rubeus walks well on leash and enjoys walks!

Medical: Rubeus does not have any known health issues at this time.

Why did he come to WISE?: WISE recently rescued a group of dogs who were throw aways from an Amish breeding puppy mill. When the "breeder" decided that the dogs were no longer needed for breeding, he planned to euthanize them. WISE and other rescues stepped up to rescue them.
