My story

This beautiful one year old dilute calico’s name is Dolly, she was rescued from a shelter along with her 3 newborn babies. Transported from the south up to CT, Dolly was very scared being a new mom in a new place caring for her babies. With so many life changing things happening in such a short period of time, Dolly was not very trusting of people at all but very quickly she saw how her babies trusted people and she learned from her babies how to trust her foster family.

Dolly was a great mama to her babies always feeding them when they wanted, teaching them how to use the litter box and running to their side if she heard any cries. As her babies grew more independent, Dolly had the time to learn how to be young and have fun again. She started playing with wand toys and learning how much she loved to have her neck and chin scratched. Dolly can be pretty vocal and purrs when pet but she also make a lot of biscuits when she is being pet. Now it is her time to be a young cat and have her best life and get the happy ending she deserves.

In her foster home Dolly has been enjoying bird, squirrel and chipmunk watching out the window, playing with wand toys, running around wrestling or playing hide and seek with her babies and foster brother cat and eating lots of treats.

Dolly would love to have a friend to go on adventures around the house with and she can be pretty spunky when she is playful and let’s be honest, life is always better with a BFF! Please consider inviting Dolly into your home, she is such a sweet young girl ready to love and trust and live her best life.

More about this rescue

Furry Animals Being Saved Rescue, Inc. was founded by a dedicated woman committed to the mission of saving the lives of homeless dogs and cats. After getting knocked down several times in the rescue community she decided to branch off and create her own rescue so her mission will go on uninterrupted. FABS Rescue is a foster-based, non-breed specific rescue with an emphasis on the Chow Chow breed, a breed that is very misunderstood. We are based out of Northern Connecticut. FABS Rescue relies on the generosity of volunteers and donors to provide medical care, training, and daily care to dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia. We are committed to helping one homeless shelter animal at a time. Please help us to fulfill our mission.
