My story

Small but mighty, senior Karley is looking for her forever home. That home needs some space for her to get her wiggles out every day, and also someone who is home most of the time.

For all the energy she does have, she is extremely sweet and calm at home. She knows her cues well – sit, come and her crate. But she could use some help with her walking manners.

Karley loves watching critters like birds and butterflies. And she gets along well with other dogs. Her preference we think is a home where she’s the only dog – so she can be spoiled!

She does have some light medical needs that her foster home is getting her used to through medications of Proin and Carprofen, and needed joint supplements.

Our adoption process begins with our adoption questionnaire: https://norcalgsprescue.org/adoption-questionnaire/

(Please note that we adopt primarily within Northern California and our minimum age for kids is 6)

If you'd like to see what Karley's been up to, check out his posting in the Available Foster Dogs section: https://norcalgsprescue.org/available-dogs/. That's where you'll find all the latest info about all of our available dogs.

Karley is available for adoption to homes in the western US and Canada! Interested parties outside Northern California need to be willing to drive to the foster home’s location for an in-person meeting prior to or in conjunction with pick up. Please note that we do not ship dogs.

Additional adoption info

Complete our adoption questionnaire on our website to start the adoption process. www.NorCalGSPrescue.org Please provide as much information as you can about your family, other pets, activity level, and why you are wanting to adopt a rescue GSP. Because almost all of our dogs come to us with unknown pasts, we don't adopt to families with children under 6. You will be called or emailed shortly after your application is received, usually within 3-5 days, to further discuss your application and what you are looking for in a GSP companion. We will also determine whether we currently have any GSPs that might be a fit for you.. If a GSP is identified as a potential match, we will have you contact the foster home to arrange a visit with the dog(s). The rescue dog will need to meet all members of the family, including other pets, at some point during the process. If after meeting the dog, everyone agrees he/she is a good fit for you, a home visit is next. The home visit may be in-person or virtual. Home visits are required before any dog leaves our rescue program. Once the home visit is completed and you are approved, we will ask you to complete an adoption agreement. If you do not agree to the stipulations in the agreement, we cannot adopt a dog to you. Please note that we reserve the right to deny anyone the ability to adopt any dog from our rescue program for any reason. All adoptions are at our sole discretion. Adoption donation: Rates vary from free to $410 depending on the age of the dog. These monies help to defray some of the medical and other costs we incur while the dog is in our care. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, heartworm and fecal checked and microchipped. Occasionally, a dog requires special vet care while in our program. We will provide you with the dog's veterinary records so you will be fully informed of any known medical conditions. Please refer to each dog’s posting on our website for the latest rate information.
