My story

I’m Sphinx. I’m a beautiful and unusual calico Siamese mix. Calico kitties come in many, many breeds because calico is just a color. I am a cool and exotic girl! I have those long, big ears, big eyes and the slim face and body of the Siamese. My foster mom looked it up and it must have been my dad who was Siamese to make me a calico in a Siamese body (well according to Wikipedia anyway) 😊. I’m very young, maybe around 1.5 yrs or so the vet said. I was found wandering a city park - hungry, dirty, and lonely. Now I’m all clean, my belly is full, and I follow my foster mom around the house talking to her, telling her all about my adventures in the park and about how happy I am being safe and indoors.

I’m very friendly and love to be on my foster mom’s lap. When I’m on her lap I tend to knead a lot and talk a lot (that's the Siamese in me) – I’m super happy to be with a person again. I follow her around so I can get any extra pets and to just see what’s going on. I’m very curious about what’s happening and I’m very energetic and athletic – after all I am still a young girl. I've learned to get along with the other foster kitties but I'd prefer to be an only cat and only pet 😊. My perfect forever home would have people who’ll love me lots, who will play with me a lot.

I’m already spayed so I’m ready to go to my forever family right now! Do you think you could give this remarkably distinctive cat (that’s me!) another chance at love and a family? I’m sure I’d be a fun, beautiful and loving addition and it would be my dream come true to find a forever home with you. You can call or text me at 602-757-9791 and ask for Deb. Or email me at drtweets2@msn.com I’ll be waiting to hear from you!

Additional adoption info

Complete an adopter application (email or text for a copy) followed up by a phone.interview. We ask about previous ownership of cats, dog doors, children, backup ownership in case of illness - the usual. There is a re-homing fee for all cats and kittens.. The potential adopter would come to the foster home to meet the animal and then a home visit. We return calls/texts/emails almost always within 24 hours even if the cat has already been adopted. We want to encourage adoption whether its from us or some other rescue.

Go meet their pets

By appointment only but we are very flexible and accommodating to meet people's schedules.

More about this rescue

We are a group of women and men who have volunteered in rescue for over 20 years each. We foster the cats and sometimes dogs in our homes with our own animals. This allows us to get to know the animal and what type of family would fit it. We also are the care givers for several community/colony cats at a local college. We've been doing this for years also. We have stabilized the cat population at the college and the only new cats arriving are ones abandoned there. We haven't had a litter in years!!! We TNR all the cats but don't return the tame ones as we foster these and get them new homes. We also educate friends and colleagues on finding new homes for their own cats if they can no longer keep them. We would love to welcome in other like minded people to foster, help trap, stock the feeder and water stations, and drive cats to the S/N clinics. We would also welcome any cat food donations for the feral cats.
