Took Athena on a day trip yesterday and she was just the easiest dog to hangout with. With her older age, arthritis, and length of stay at the shelter it’s taking a toll on her and it’s no way to keep living. I’m hoping this marketing of her will help get her adopted or at least a rescue or long time foster may be interested to help save her. Please share everywhere you can by copying the link and my blurb about her! She deserves a loving home and needs our help to make that dream come true. 🙂
“Athena is an older girl that is looking for somewhere to live out her golden years. With being almost 10 years old, a shelter is no place for her to cooped up all day. Although she is a big fluffy girl, she's as gentle as can be. She has a dainty trot when she "tries" to go fast on walks but typically her pace is extra slow. She'd be a great companion for someone who likes to lay low and lives an easy going life. She's up for adventures as long as you are okay with taking breaks every now and then so she can rest and people watch. That's her favorite activity. If you sit down with her, she'll sit behind you facing the other way to make sure she "covers your 6". She takes treats so gently that you almost have to put them in her mouth for her. She enjoyed meeting everyone who came to pet her when out and about downtown. She rode in the backseat of a car like a champ and took an elevator up to a rooftop like she owned the place. Athena does well meeting new people but would be just as happy hanging out all day with her new family. When it comes to homelife, due to her older age and hard of hearing it would be best to stick to the rules of "no dogs on the couch" and "no dogs on the bed" this way you'll avoid any startling which is bound to happen when Athena dozes off and dreams about pupperoni and pup-cups. This is where having someone who has an easy going lifestyle and calm home would be best. Athena is just looking for somewhere soft to land and live out the rest of her days filled with love and maybe some cheese too!

Come on down to the shelter any day of the week from 1-5:30pm and ask to meet this fluffy goddess. If you are unable to adopt or foster please share amongst your family and friends in hopes that someone else may be interested!”
