My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Odin was found as a stray and never claimed by an owner so we don't know his background but he is very happy to be here at the shelter making new friends. He is an active, goofy, and affectionate dog who loves to learn. He would benefit from going to an obedience class so he can continue to learn with you there to guide him. He may try to climb on your lap and will give kisses. Based on his striking blue eyes we are guessing he has Husky in his mix, but only a DNA test could confirm that. He seems to be housebroken and is picking up training commands quickly. We are estimating his age at two years old and he is approximately 65 lbs.

Odin needs a home with no cats or small dogs. If he has a dog playmate it should be close to his size and be young enough to run around and play with him. No children under 10, he is tall and may accidentally knock them over with his tail or feet.

If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our dog adoption fee is $350. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash and a month's worth of heartworm preventative.

With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both.

All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.
