This puppy will arrive July 9, 2022.
Priority is given to applicants who are willing to adopt the puppy prior to their arrival (Adopt-off-Transport). This means you will adopt and take your puppy home without the opportunity to meet the puppy in advance. Applications are screened for the best possible fit for a puppy home. In case your puppy of interest already has an application in progress, please select other dogs of interest on your application. We do not adopt more than one puppy at a time to a single home.
Ready to apply? Please review our Puppy Primer to make sure you're ready to make this life-changing decision.

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
