My story

"I'm Contessa, but my friends call me Tessa. I recently came to the rescue after someone didn't want me anymore and dumped me, along with my newborn kittens.

I'm only around 9 months old, a baby myself, and unfortunately, I was separated from my kittens before my rescuers could find me.

Though I've had a really rough start to life, I'm settling in at the shelter and learning that life with people can be really nice. I love to get scratches and gentle pets from the volunteers here, who really admire my unique coat and unusually small size - I'm still about the size of a kitten!

I really hope to find a family that will give me a second chance - I'll prove myself to be a sweetheart and your best friend, I promise! Come meet me, I'll really win your heart."

Her adoption fee will go to keeping our shelter running, and to continued efforts in getting homes to wonderful cats just like her.

Why adoption is a great option

Contessa, a Landenberg Abyssinian cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Abyssinian for sale in Landenberg, or seeking a Abyssinian cat from a breeder in Landenberg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Landenberg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Landenberg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Abyssinian breeders who help with Abyssinian rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Landenberg paves the way for another one to be saved.
