Viola & Gomez came to us via our friends at Neighborhood Cats. They were socialized to their feeder on the street so came into foster care with @goodhome_chfosters, where they received essential vet care and socialization finishing school.

Walk into a room and you'll be starstruck by Gomez and Viola in their nearly identical shiny, perfect tuxedo coats, with their curious spirits and gentle, un-demanding natures.
Gomez, the more social of the two, is the cutest little man. So long as you're equally patient and gentle, he'll approach for cheek rubs or a scratch under the chin. He's even keen on belly rubs. While he's easy to pick up, he still has his shy moments and won't yet linger for a cuddle. However, the cuddles do happen, and with patience and good loving, his comfort will continue to grow over time.
Viola is curious. She loves to perch to look out a window and to explore a room. She's precocious and a fast study. At any signal she reads that you're looking to go in for a pet, she'll run (fast) to avoid it. She has gotten more and more comfortable being close (so long as you aren't looking to go in for a pet!) and being out and about. With a patient, experienced adopter and the guidance of her brother, she might still get over her fear of human hands.
Both love to play with ribbon toys and to run down the hall after ping pong balls. They cuddle with each other but also enjoy their time independently throughout the day. Though they do like a friendly tussle with each other at night, they aren't competitive over anything, and like to venture into new spots together.

Why adoption is a great option

Viola (Meet me in the Adoption Room!), a Brooklyn Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
