My story

Meet Dino! This 8-year-old, 9-lb terrier blend is sure to win your heart! This little guy is searching for a forever family that can be right by his side all day, every day.

  • General Behavior: Dino LOVES his person. He will do anything and everything to follow you around and does not appreciate it when he cannot be involved in everything you do. He enjoys a good cuddle and running around a fenced and secure yard!

  • Likes & Dislikes: “Dino the explorer!” His foster reports that Dino likes to spend his mornings exploring his yard, and afterward, take a nice nap in the sun. He enjoys the company of other small dogs and as long as he can be with his human, he is content!

  • Training: Dino is what we call a textbook definition of a “Good Doggo”! He has good basic manners, walks well on a leash, and does pretty well with his housetraining, as long as he is let out frequently.

  • Medical: Dino does have a sensitive tummy and is on a special prescription diet. This food costs about the same as any quality dog food. He also has some dry eye, and will require eye drops twice daily. The drops are about $20 a month. He also will need his monthly heartworm, and flea prevention, just like any dog!

  • Other Animals: Dino enjoys the company of other small dogs, he does get nervous around dogs that are bigger than him. He has not been observed around cats, but his foster thinks that he would do OK with them.

  • Children: Dino loves his people but would do best in a home with older children (8-10+).

  • Home: A single-family home would be best for this pint-sized guy! He gets anxious when left alone, and does not like doors separating him and his people. A secure, fenced-in yard would also be needed to accommodate his “on-the-go” personality

  • Grooming: Dino will not need any elaborate grooming, but would benefit from a trip to the groomer every 8-10 weeks to keep him looking sharp!

  • Overall: Dino is a sweet little guy who enjoys the company of his people very much. A family with a secure yard, and who is home more often than not would be a wonderful fit for this cutie!

We are a foster-based rescue organization and do not have a facility. We have all events posted on our website each month.

More about this rescue

Poodle and Pooch Rescue is a 501(c)3 non profit organization that saves dogs that truly need help. We rescue the "leftovers" from animal control, the dogs nobody wants because they're older or suffer from neglect, abuse or have a medical need. Their "last" day becomes the first day of their new life. We provide the veterinary care they need, a foster family they love and when they're ready, we adopt them to a family who cherishes them. We do not have a physical shelter because every dog lives with one of our foster families. We are all volunteers so your tax-deductible donation goes directly to help the dogs. We have saved over 5,500 dogs since 2008.
