My story

Cora is a Lab mix and a 10 year old "puppy".  She loves toys and will carry them around, sleep with them and take them outside with her.  She loves a good game of tug of war and is very happy and playful.  Cora runs and hops and jumps and always seems full of excitement.  She will hop right into the bathtub for a bath and enjoys her spa time.  You can dress her up in any costume and she is happy to model for you.

She gets along with dogs and cats with proper introductions and is housebroken and crate trained.  She can be very vocal at times and if you ask her what she is doing, will give you a very long answer.  If you pet her or brush her, you will often get what sounds like a growl with a sigh of satisfaction at the end.  She never tires of attention, but when playtime is over, she is just as happy for naptime.

She is very treat motivated and you never have to worry about giving her pills because if you slap a little peanut butter on it, she will eat anything.  She does like to table and counter surf though and has been known to grab a quick bite of whatever is within her reach and take off with it.

She is a happy – go – lucky kind of girl and a silly and loving companion.  Cora does have a thyroid condition.  She will need to be tested every six months to make sure her dosage is correct, but her medication is very inexpensive.  She also can have issues with allergies and ear infections, but does well when her ears are cleaned on a regular basis and her back foot is treated with medicated shampoo or wipes.

Cora will jump when she is excited, so a home with small children or persons that could easily be knocked down may not be ideal for her. Cora requires a house (no renters) with a fully fenced yard.

Cora's adoption fee is $200 and includes her spay, vaccinations, and microchip. If you want to meet spunky Cora fill out an adoption application at

Please NOTE: PPH does not adopt dogs to homes farther than a 1 hour drive from Tampa, FL.

Additional adoption info

We have a strict adoption application that includes a home check at our convenience. The adoption fee depends on the breed, age and size of the animal.

Go meet their pets

We hold adoption events locally. Some of our dogs are in boarding facilities others are in foster homes.

More about this rescue

We save animals from high kill county animal shelters that were ready to be euthanized, or on the high risk report. We find them foster homes locally where they have the opportunity of finding their forever home.
