My story

Bacon is a handsome kitty that was rescued from a culvert behind a store in Estero when he was only 5 weeks old. He is still a little shy with strangers, but warms up quickly especially when treats are involved. He enjoys attention and lap time and lots of petting from volunteers and staff that he has gotten to know. Bacon is good with other cats and would not mind sharing his forever home with another cat or two. Come, meet this handsome kitty, spend a little time with him and get to know him. We are sure if you do, you will fall in love with him like we have.

More about this rescue

The Animal Refuge Center (ARC) of Fort Myers is a not for profit animal welfare society dedicated to stopping the escalating cost to impound, care for, kill and dispose of dogs and cats dying for no reason other than having been born. ARC is helping to cut the large numbers of homeless animals which eventually cuts the costs to taxpayers, which to date has reached over half a million dollars a year.

ARC is a non-euthanasia organization. Once we accept an animal for adoption, IT WILL NOT BE DESTROYED TO MAKE ROOM FOR ANOTHER. We are here to help the unwanted and neglected animals who now face certain death.
