Meet Peanut!
Peanut is an 11 year old cattle dog mix whose owner recently passed away. She is currently being cared for by family members, who reached out to us for help finding Peanut a new loving family through our Final Wish Program. Peanut's caregivers report that she listens and is well-behaved. She's friendly and outgoing and loves going on walks and is good on a leash. She also loves riding in the car. Peanut is house trained and doggy door trained too. Peanut is one of those super smart dogs that loves to please. While she has lots of energy, loves to run and explore, she is equally happy to settle in for a nap next to her person.
Peanut loves to have her neck scratched and often closes her eyes like she's getting a massage at a spa! Peanut was an inside dog but had access to the outside with a dog door open to the backyard. A normal day would be waking up early as her owner was a contractor running his business out of his house. There would be several employees in the kitchen as they made plans for the day, so she is used to people going in and out of the house. Peanut was left alone during the middle of the day, and she mostly slept or chased lizards in the backyard. Once the work day was over, they would settle in the living room either on a couch or sharing the recliner with her owner. At bedtime, she would get to jump on the bed for a few minutes before settling into her dog bed on the floor.
