Alvin's adoption donation is $475 and he is being fostered in Central Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and started on prevention, as well as flea prevention. ALVIN REQUIRES A DOG OWNER EXPERIENCED WITH DOGS WHO HAVE RESOURCE GUARDING ISSUES.
Alvin came into rescue from a local kill shelter. He is a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso boy who has made a lot of progress in rescue, but he can be challenging. He is a sweet and loving dog but he does require an owner experienced in dealing with dogs with only positive training methods. Alvin likes to play with toys and go for walks. He is very good with housetraining as long as kept on a schedule. Alvin also loves being loved and sleeps by his person. We do prefer a fenced yard since he does like to play outside but he loves to take walks as well. Alvin can be reactive so a home with no children and an adopter with verifiable experience in dealing with reactive dogs is required. He's a great little guy but he isn't for everyone. He will need an owner that isn't a "pushover" and understands that Alvin needs guidance and structure. With the right environment and continued work, Alvin will continue on the path to living his best life.
